When in 1906 the protectorate under Lord Lugard had a stop over at the South to continue the expedition and permeation of imperialism in the regions adjoining Dahomey and other parts of the hinterland of the coastal colonies, it was evident that this hitherto peaceful region was becoming a beehive of aliens.
The Amalgamation of 1914 also did not help matters as there was a political conjugation of two diverse and eccentric entities, North and South.
Since that premature colonial ejaculation, people of the South have been treated with one sordid sentimentalism that has affected even in power sharing.
The mission of those in the North has been to conquer territories and align them to their mission.
Over centuries, the South has acted as an appendage of the North, especially some few gullible ones who have continued to see their messiahnic ascendancy to be rooted in the North.
Utman Dan Fodio explored this to his own advantage.
Very recently and in the course of this political regime, brothers of the South have sold themselves as SLAVES of the North who in their Royal political apparatchik, have continued to domineer over the South.
Rotimi Amaechi was caught in camera morally pants-down, ordering soldiers to kill and maim his own people, just because he doesn't want his brother Wike to become the Governor. But he, Amaechi doesn't know that the law put him up when the murky waters of politics overwhelmed him. Same with the desperation of Okorocha, and other men of the South, mutadis mutandis.
Now it is virulently clear that some Southerners don't want to be liberated from the shackles of the jihadist preoccupation of the North.
But time is far spent and just like the animals in the Animal Farm, " The fruitful fields of England shall be taken by beasts alone"...
