AFSA GHANA UNLEASHED ITS PROPOSED COLLABORATION WITH CROSS RIVER STATE GOVERNMENT ON THE ONGOING AFRICA CLIMATE WEEK DISCUSSION.




Hyginus Laari, African Farming Students' Association- Country Director, Ghana represented the team on AFRICAN CLIMATE WEEK  conference in Ghana.

Today's discussion and break out session were all curved around the government, key individuals and private sector steeping up action to build resilience agriculture and food security system in Africa.

Hyginus, unleased African Farming Students Association (AFSA) proposed request meeting and collaboration with the Cross River State government to mitigate rising temperature via climate smart agriculture to reduce farmers risks and low agricultural productivity aside from the conferment of an award to the governor as the "MOST DEDICATED AFRICAN STATE GOVERNOR TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURE".

He added that, some action required for resilient in the Agricultural and Food System in Cross River State are slated; 
- Awareness rising
- Climate Resilience Information
- Resources mobilization
- Linking local context with national and global decision.
- Amongst others.

Laari, concludes that; Cross River State is a greener pasture having rank the highest producer of cassava in Nigeria and beyond west Africa which is the foremost stable food among Nigerian. So therefore, there's need to assist and support subsistence farmers to reduce agricultural risk on its productivity, So he said.

He further called for more collaboration and partners to actualized this exercise in Cross River State, Nigeria.
