(A) Qualifications and Requirements for Academic Positions
The following are the qualifications and other requirements for the academic positions.

(a) Professor (CONUASS 7): Candidates must be holders of relevant Bachelors’, Masters’ and Ph. d. degrees from recognized Universities with at least two (2) years teaching, research and administrative experience as Reader in a recognized University. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership in his/her academic discipline. Candidates must also be specialists in advertised fields of study with evidence of at least fifteen (15) scholarly publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes, plus evidence of successful supervision of at least ten (10) Masters/PhD theses. Candidates must provide evidence of community service and be registered or registrable with the relevant professional/scientific bodies as applicable. Candidates must also have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(b) Reader (CONUASS 6): Candidates must possess the relevant Bachelors’, Masters’ and Ph. d. degrees from recognized Universities with at least two (2) years teaching, research and administrative experience as Senior Lecturer in a recognized University. Candidates must have evidence of at least twelve (12) scholarly publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes, plus evidence of successful supervision of at least six (6) Masters/Ph. d. degree theses. Candidates must provide evidence of community service and be registered or registrable with the relevant professional/scientific bodies as applicable. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(c) Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5): Candidates must possess a good Bachelors’, Masters’ and Ph. d. degrees from recognized Universities with at least two (2) years teaching, research and administrative experience as Lecturer-I in a recognized University. Candidates must have evidence of at least eight (8) scholarly publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes, plus evidence of successful supervision of at least three (3) Masters/PhD theses. Candidates must be registered or registrable with the relevant professional/scientific bodies as applicable. Evidence of community service will be an added advantage. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(d) Lecturer-I (CONUASS 4): Candidates must be holders of relevant Bachelors and Masters’ degree, from recognized Universities. Candidates with Ph. d. degrees will be an added advantage. Candidates must have at least three (3) years teaching, research and administrative experience as Lecturer-II in a recognized University.  Candidates must also have evidence of at least five (5) scholarly publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes (or three journal publications and participation in four (4) professional projects). Candidates must be registered or registrable with the relevant professional/scientific bodies as applicable. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(e) Lecturer-II (CONUASS 3): Candidates must be holders of relevant Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees from recognized Universities with at least three (3) years of teaching and research experience as Assistant Lecturer in a recognized University. Candidates with Ph. d. degrees will be an added advantage. Candidates must also have evidence of at least three (3) publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes or participation in at least two (2) professional/research projects. Candidates must be registered or registrable with the relevant professional/scientific bodies as applicable. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(f) Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 2): Candidates must be holders of Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees in the relevant areas from recognized Universities. Evidence of publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes is also required. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(g) Graduate Assistant (CONUASS 1): Candidates must be holders of Bachelors’ degree (with minimum of Second Class Upper Division) in the relevant fields from recognized University. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(h) Senior Librarian (CONUASS 4): Candidates must be holders of Bachelors’, Masters’ and Ph. d. degrees in Library & Information Science from recognized Universities and must have been on the rank of Librarian-I in the University system with at least two (2) years cognate working experience. Candidates must have evidence of at least eight (8) scholarly publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes. Candidates must be members of NLA and registered with LRCN. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(i) Librarian-I (CONUASS 3): Candidates must be holders of Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees in Library & Information Science from recognized Universities and must have been on the rank of Librarian-II in the University system with at least 3 years cognate working experience. Candidates must also have evidence of at least five (5) scholarly publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes (or three journal publications and participation in four (4) professional projects). Candidates must be members of NLA and registered with LRCN. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(j) Librarian-II (CONUASS 2): Candidates must be holders of relevant Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees in Library & Information Science from recognized Universities. Candidates with Ph. d. degrees in Library & Information Science will be an added advantage. Candidates must have been on the rank of Assistant Librarian in the University system with at least 3 years cognate working experience. Candidates must also have evidence of at least three (3) publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes or participation in at least two (2) professional/research projects. Candidates must be members of NLA and registered with LRCN. Candidates must also have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(k) Assistant Librarian (CONUASS 1): Candidates must be holders of Bachelors’ Library Science or Library & Information Science from recognized University with at least Second Class Upper Division. Candidates must be members of NLA and registered with LRCN. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

NOTE: All appointments for the positions of Reader and Professor are subject to positive External Assessments.

(B) Technical Staff for the Faculties/ Library/DGES AND DICT
Technologist Cadre
1. Higher Technical Officer (CONTISS 07): Candidates must possess five (5) ‘O’ level Credits including English Language and Mathematics with a good University degree in the relevant area from a recognized University. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
2. Library Officer (CONTISS 06): ‘O’ level certificate with 5 credits including English Language plus ND in Library Science. Computer skills and relevant work experience will be an advantage.
3. System & Database Analyst-I/(CONTISS 09): Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant area from a recognized University plus five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics. Candidates must have at least five (5) years cognate working experience. A Masters degree will be an added advantage. Expertise in Web Administration/Server Administration and in-depth understanding of PHP scripting, Mysql, JQuery, SQL Server, HTML5, etc., are required. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
4. System & Database Analyst-II (CONTISS 07): Candidates must possess five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics with a good University degree in the relevant area from a recognized University and proficiency in any of the Programming Languages. Expertise in Web Administration/Server Administration and PHP scripting, Mysql, JQuery, SQL Server, HTML5, etc., are required. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
5. Computer Engineer I (CONTISS 08): Candidates must possess five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics, plus a good University degree in the relevant area from a recognized University with four (3) years post-qualification cognate working experience and registered or registerable with COREN. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
6. Computer Engineer II (CONTISS 07): Candidates must possess five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics plus a good University degree in the relevant area from a recognized University. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(C) Non-Academic Staff
1. Registry Department
1. Senior Assistant Registrar (CONTISS 11):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant areas with at least 9 years post qualification cognate working experience in the University system plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Must be computer literate with the membership of at least one professional body like NIM, CIPM, ANUPA, etc. Candidates with Masters’ degree with 5 years working experience are also eligible to apply.
2. Senior Assistant Registrar (Information and PR Unit) (CONTISS 11):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant area with at least 10 years post qualification cognate working experience in the Mass Media or Information and Public Relations Unit of an organization. Candidates with Masters’ degree with 7 years working experience are also eligible to apply. Must be computer literate and a member of NIPR.
3. Assistant Registrar (CONTISS 09):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant areas from a recognized University with at least 5 years cognate working experience in the University system plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Candidates with Masters’ degree with 3 years working experience in the University system are also eligible to apply.  Must also be computer literate.
4. Administrative Officer (CONTISS 08):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant areas from a recognized University with at least 2 years post qualification cognate working experience in the University system plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Must be computer literate. Candidates who hold Masters’ degree in the relevant areas are also eligible to apply.
5. Administrative Assistant (CONTISS 07):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant areas from a recognized University plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Must also be computer literate.
6. Principal Executive Officer (CONTISS 09):
Candidates must possess a Higher National Diploma in the relevant areas with at least 5 years post qualification cognate working experience in the University system plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Computer literacy is needed.
7. Senior Executive Officer (CONTISS 08):
Candidate must possess a Higher National Diploma in the relevant areas with at least 3 years post qualification cognate working experience in the University system plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Computer literacy is needed.
8. Higher Executive Officer (CONTISS 07):
Candidates must possess a Higher National Diploma in the relevant areas plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Computer literacy is needed.
9. Principal Confidential Secretary II (CONTISS 09):
Candidates must possess a Higher National Diploma/University degree in Office Technology and Management with NYSC discharge or exemption certificate plus 6 years post qualification cognate or RSA/Pitman Government Certificate for 150/50 W. P. M in shorthand and Typewriting with at least 6 years cognate experience. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
10. Confidential Secretary I (CONTISS 08):
Candidates must possess a Higher National Diploma/University degree in Office Technology and Management with NYSC discharge or exemption certificate plus 3 years post qualification cognate working experience or 100/50pm/National Diploma in Office Technology/Secretarial Studies.

Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant areas with at least 8 years post qualification cognate working experience in the University system plus membership of the relevant professional organization plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. 1. Quantity Surveyor II (CONTISS 07):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in relevant area from a recognized University plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate plus registration with relevant professional body. Computer literacy is also needed.
2. Planning Officer II (CONTISS 07):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant area plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate plus registration with the relevant professional body. Computer literacy is a requirement.
3. Building Officer II (CONTISS 07):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant area plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate plus membership of the relevant professional body. Computer literacy is needed.
4. Medical Centre
1. Nursing Officer I (CONTISS 08):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in Nursing plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate plus registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Candidates with NRN or SRN certificate with at least 5 years cognate working experience are also eligible to apply.
2. Nursing Officer II (CONTISS 07):
Candidates must possess an NRN or SRN certificate plus registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
3. Medical Lab. Officer I (CONTISS 08):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant area with at least 3 years cognate working experience plus registration with the relevant professional body. Computer literacy is also needed. Candidates who possess C & G part II, HND, AIST or NNC Science Laboratory are also eligible to apply. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

1. Internal Auditor I (CONTISS 08):
Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant area with at least 5 years post qualification cognate working experience in the University system plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate plus membership of the relevant professional body. Computer literacy is also needed.
2. Security Officer II (CONTISS 07):
Candidates must possess the relevant qualification with at least 10 years cognate working experience in the Nigerian Security System.
3. Coach I (CONTISS 08):
Candidates must possess an NCE/Diploma in coaching from the Nigerian Institute of Sports or its equivalent plus at least 5 years cognate working experience. Candidates who hold good University degree in Kinetics or Physical and Health Education plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate are also eligible.

      1. Principal Library Officer I (CONTISS 09): Candidates must be holders of HND in Library Science or Library and Information Science from recognized Polytechnic with at least six (6) years cognate working experience in the University system. Candidates with ND in Library Science or Library and Information Science with at least nine (9) years cognate working experience in the University system are also eligible to apply.       2. (b) Reader (CONUASS 6): Candidates must possess the relevant Bachelors’, Masters’ and Ph. d. degrees from recognized Universities with at least two (2) years teaching, research and administrative experience as Senior Lecturer in a recognized University. Candidates must have evidence of at least twelve (12) scholarly publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes, plus evidence of successful supervision of at least six (6) Masters/Ph. d. degree theses. Candidates must provide evidence of community service and be registered or registrable with the relevant professional/scientific bodies as applicable. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(c) Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5): Candidates must possess a good Bachelors’, Masters’ and Ph. d. degrees from recognized Universities with at least two (2) years teaching, research and administrative experience as Lecturer-I in a recognized University. Candidates must have evidence of at least eight (8) scholarly publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes, plus evidence of successful supervision of at least three (3) Masters/PhD theses. Candidates must be registered or registrable with the relevant professional/scientific bodies as applicable. Evidence of community service will be an added advantage. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(d) Lecturer-I (CONUASS 4): Candidates must be holders of relevant Bachelors and Masters’ degree, from recognized Universities. Candidates with Ph. d. degrees will be an added advantage. Candidates must have at least three (3) years teaching, research and administrative experience as Lecturer-II in a recognized University.  Candidates must also have evidence of at least five (5) scholarly publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes (or three journal publications and participation in four (4) professional projects). Candidates must be registered or registrable with the relevant professional/scientific bodies as applicable. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(e) Lecturer-II (CONUASS 3): Candidates must be holders of relevant Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees from recognized Universities with at least three (3) years of teaching and research experience as Assistant Lecturer in a recognized University. Candidates with Ph. d. degrees will be an added advantage. Candidates must also have evidence of at least three (3) publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes or participation in at least two (2) professional/research projects. (f) Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 2): Candidates must be holders of Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees in the relevant areas from recognized Universities. Evidence of publications in learned journals in University and apex research/training institutes is also required. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(g) Graduate Assistant (CONUASS 1): Candidates must be holders of Bachelors’ degree (with minimum of Second Class Upper Division) in the relevant fields from recognized University. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

(h) Senior Librarian (CONUASS 4): Candidates must be holders of Bachelors’, Masters’ and Ph. d. degrees in Library & Information Science from recognized Universities and must have been on the rank of Librarian-I in the University system with at least two (2) years cognate working experience. System & Database Analyst-I/(CONTISS 09): Candidates must possess a good University degree in the relevant area from a recognized University plus five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics. Candidates must have at least five (5) years cognate working experience. A Masters degree will be an added advantage. Expertise in Web Administration/Server Administration and in-depth understanding of PHP scripting, Mysql, JQuery, SQL Server, HTML5, etc., are required. Candidates must have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
4. System & Database Analyst-II (CONTISS 07): Candidates must possess five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics with a good University degree in the relevant area from a recognized University and proficiency in any of the Programming Languages. Expertise in Web Administration/Server Administration and PHP scripting, Mysql, JQuery, SQL Server, HTML5, etc., are required. 5. Computer Engineer I (CONTISS 08): Candidates must possess five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics, plus a good University degree in the relevant area from a recognized University with four (3) years post-qualification cognate working experience and registered or registerable with COREN.
