Please also remember that, 2015, I campaigned for and supported President Muhammadu Buhari to become Nigéria’s president. Here are some of the reasons why I will not vote him in 2019:
1. Dismal performance of Nigeria’s economy under his watch, leaving over 90 million Nigerians poorer.
2. Blatant human right abuses including the massacre of hundreds of shites muslims and members of IPOB and crackdown on critics.
3. Failure to make good promises on fuel subsidy, use of presidential jets, job creation and the fight against corruption.
3. Deception with respect to medical tourism, asset declaration and academic credentials.
4. Reinforcing and normalizing misogyny by condemning women to kitchen and sex rooms.
5. Clear lack of understanding of inclusive democracy as examplfied by utterance against a section of Nigeria that didn’t vote him in 2015.
6. Policy somersaults and lack of foresight in appointments (took him six months to give us his current ministers, appointed dead people into key positions etc).
7. Disregard for Nigeria’s multicultural and multi religious composition in appointing people to key and sensitive positions.
8. The embarrassment and extravaganza that was Air Nigeria (or Nigéria Air)
9. Insulting Nigerian youth by calling them lazy, without ever being known to have done anything to empower or inspire them before becoming president.
10. Disregard for rule of law and fake fight against corruption.
11. Clear lack of mental capacity (when you have to explain to a cattle farmer what livestock is).
13. Widespread insecurity, including the crisis in the Middle belt and Zamfara-Sokoto-Katsina ( the recent inciting comment in Gusau was unfortunate), placing Nigeria on the third place in global terrorism index.
