2019: APC OWAN ENOH SNEAK INTO YALA, BOOED AT OKUKU JUNCTION






The Cross River State factional governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator John Owan Enoh was on Tuesday booed at Okuku Roundabout Junction as he sneaked into Yala Local Government Area during a planned campaign tour of the northern Senatorial District of the state.

It was reliably gathered that a planned welcome reception by Owan Enoh's supporters at Okuku Roundabout Junction could not hold as it was resisted by residents and supporters of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

It was also gathered that the factional governorship candidate and his entourage hurriedly zoom pass Okuku Roundabout sensing the rejection by the people. The residents who gathered at the junction started booing at the motocade as they drove through the roundabout.

Senator Owan Enoh is a serving member of the upper legislative chamber representing the good people of Central Senatorial District of the state. He is serving his first term.

As a result of the development, a source said, Senator Enoh could not stop over to address his supporters as was earlier planned.

It would be recalled that posters, banners and billboards of candidates of the various parties have been attacked within Okuku metropolis with supporters of PDP and APC accusing each other.

Recently two massive billboards mounted by as grossroots group Okadigbo Vanguard with graphic designs for PDP candidates for presidency, governorship,  national and state assemblies were allegedly destroyed by supporters of the opposition APC.

The provocative action it was gathered, led to the destruction of all APC campaign banners, posters and billboards.

The development, it was gathered almost turned violent but for the timely intervention of leaders of the various parties and men of the Police Force, who promptly mobilised to the scene of the fracas to restore normalcy.

It was gathered that it also took the intervention of the Director-General, Cross River State Due Process and Price Intelligence Bureau, Barr Alphonsus Ogar, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon Mrs Stella Odey and Special Adviser to the governor on Tourism, Hon Sunday Ebeku (aka Otolo) amongst others.

Speaking separately, the leaders sue for peace and charged supporters to carry out their campaign activities peacefully.
