Mr. Destiny Asegem. Popularly known as AJANAKU, can be aptly
described as an “Ambassador of Peace” in Ukelle, a nation that has been crying
for peace.
He understands the nitty gritty of the plight of his people
and has had a resolve to tackle it from the root.
He has single-handedly taken the cross upon himself; he is the
singular Ukelle person, accompanied by some of his good friends, who had paid
the entire clan heads of the 13 clans of Ukelle, at least a visit on the
subject of peace. He believes that until peace is returned to Ukelle, the
burdens God has placed on his shoulder are yet to be lifted.
Ever dogged in his approach, Mr. Destiny has always been at
the forefront of every move that has been made to restore peace. He is a
pioneer of the Ukelle Youth Forum (UYF), a platform formed by the progressive
minds in Ukelle to ensure the peaceful coexistence of the indigenes.
Mr. Destiny, in his quest to foster peace and unity, is
guided by the philosophy of philanthropy – he believes that once the young
people are united and are gainfully employed, the problem of peace has been
resolved, halfway. It is, in this regard that, he in his proactive approach,
conceived the vision of bringing the young minds together to articulate ideas
of not just restoring peace in Ukelle, but to also promote the economic and
social welfare of our sons and daughters.
Mr. Destiny is also aware that a great number of Ukelle youth
who have the energy needed to be deployed into bringing the desired changes,
are being bitten by the debilitating hands of poverty, hunger, illiteracy and
worst of all, the current temptation of attempted annihilation being unleashed on the southern axis.
As an astute entrepreneur, he has employed many youth of
Ukelle and raised many out of the sting of penury. He has silently given scholarships,
raised seed money for intended business men and women, paid hospital bills,
clothed manyand actively supported a good number of worthy community courses.
Further, to Ajanaku, in his lifetime, he has never seen
fellow Ukelle people raising weapons of destruction on each other, except in
recent times, when war broke out between Wanikade and Wanihem; wher blood has
been spilled on the sacred land of Ukelle.
Personally, he has impacted my life and I am inspired by his
multiplicity of innovative dreams that will, no doubt, culminate in a paradigm
shift, that will transform Ukelle land.
This Christmas season, Mr. Asegem, alongside well-meaning
Ukelle sons and daughters, intends to organize a musical show, aimed at uniting
Ukelle youth – both at home and in Diaspora. This singular act is laudable because
music and sports among other things, are notable among factors that enhance
harmonious living among young people.
I urge all illustrious sons and daughters of Ukelle to join
this young man and promote the peace, unity and most importantly, economic and
social progress of Ukelle nation.
North or South, home is home!
