Find below excerpts of Dr. Betta Edu's speech at the Pan African Humanitarian Awards Summit, 2018 held at Morocco:
“Africa can develop if we take advantage of the energetic resourceful teeming young population. "Standard and value of humanity is gradually dropping; our communal culture is fast disappearing, our leaders getting more greedy and insensitive to the plight of the people the govern; Africans are getting more inhumane, war, political instability, terrorism, poverty, hunger, preventable deaths and diseases ravaging us. External Aid won’t help us much, the problem of Africans can only be solved by Africans, it’s a wake up call to change the way we do things"
"Solution lies in our unity, it lies in our ability to make education priority in our countries. It lies in our ability to get more accountable and transparent in the way we handle power given to us by the people! It lies in our ability to use technology to create a new Africa, it lies in our ability to ensure brain gain not drain through Libya and the Mediterranean Sea where millions have died, it lies leveraging our our great resources to meet our internal needs; Africa Arise.
Dr Betta Edu was alongside with Hon. Cecilia Dapaah, Hon. Minister for Sanitation Ghana and others appointed as members of African Development Goal Initiative.
