AN ADRESS PRESENTED BY COMRADE JERRY ODEY, NATIONAL COORDINATOR OF NIGERIAN YOUTH CHOICE ON THE OCCASION OF HER NATIONAL PRESS CONFERENCE ON 2019 GENERAL ELECTION IN NIGERIA.

ABUJA.

Your excellencies here present, my fellow comrades, compatriots, members of the press, ladies and gentlemen.
It is my honour and privilege to welcome you to this unprecedented epoch making event put together by Nigerian Youth Choice.

NIGERIAN YOUTH CHOICE is a socio-political platform that seeks to promote and enthrone credible leadership at all levels across the country. Membership cuts accross  youths from the 36 states of the federation, including the FCT. Nigerian Youth Choice is made up of democrats.

The aim of this National Press  Conference is to among others officially unveil Nigerian Youth Choice Presidential candidate for the forthcoming 2019 general election and put forward our (youth) demands for 50% Affirmative Action for Youth in governance.
It is imperative as a platform to hold this conference in view of the confusion facing the electorates particularly the youth as to who they should vote for as president of our great country Nigeria in the forthcoming general election due to the emergence of multiple candidates from different political parties in the recently conducted parties primaries across the country as confirmed in the recently published INEC list of Presidential candidates.
In furtherance of the above and after due consultations with all relevant stakeholders in our political space particularly youth groups at various levels across the country pertaining potentials, credibility and capacity of all presidential candidates as sponsored by the different political parties sponsoring  presidential candidates including the ruling All Progressive Congress and considering the political permutation in our dear country and the candidature of Alh. Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate  and with the yearnings of Nigerians, particularly the youths for a better, united, prosperous and restructured Nigeria, we do hereby adopt His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON as NIGERIAN YOUTH CHOICE candidate for President come 2019. This decision is predicated on his competence and capability to run a youth friendly government and take Nigeria to a greater height. Our adopted candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar is a pan-Nigerian, he represents a united Nigeria, he represents a restructured Nigeria, he is indeed the face of the new Nigeria we all yearn for.
We hereby, call on all Nigerian youths including all relevant youth institutions/bodies, all youthful and young presidential candidates and all Nigerians including other political party candidates to as a matter of National interest/emergency join hands with Nigerian Youth Choice to see the realization of the ambition of his Excellency ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR GCON in becoming the next President of Nigeria.
We also seize this opportunity to call on the Independent National Electoral commission  (INEC) to ensure credible, free and fair election to reflect the true position of the right of Nigerians to vote and be voted for in the forthcoming elections
We also call on the security agencies to ensure peace and order during and after the elections devoid of sentiment and admonish all Nigerian youth to stay off all forms of electoral violence/manipulations

With ATIKU, the fifty percent affirmative  action for youth in governance is assured.
