His purposeful birth took place on 14th February 1966 at the holy family Joint Hospital, Ikom. He started his journey of knowledge from 1971 at St. Martins primary school, Ikom and in 1973 he headed to St. Francis primary school Obubra on his father's promotion.
In 1976, he began his secondary education in St. Brendan College Iyamoyong, Obubra. Already established as an excellent Student, he gained admission into University of Calabar in 1983 and graduated in 1987 with a sound 2.1, making him the best graduating student of that year from the Department of History and at a time when education still had it's glory. He was retained as graduate assistant which enabled him to further broaden his academic horizon by proceeding to do his Master's program. Barely a year into the program, he was directed to go straight into getting a PhD which he obtained in 1993 at the youthful age of 27. He was completely committed to serving humanity.
This political and academic luminary delved into politics and started his political exploration in 1996 as State chairman, National Center Party of Nigeria. In 1999 haven established his leadership capacity, he contested and was elected Executive chairman of Etung local Government council at the same time he became Cross River State Chairman of Chairmen in ALGON, an administration that lasted till 2002. Again, knowing his onus, he was made Pioneer Deputy National President, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria. He has been State Coordinator, Obasanjo/Atiku Presidential Campaign Organization (Obasanjo and Atiku) 2003. Member, Political Reform Conference- representing CRS, 2005. Director General, Donald Duke Presidential Campaign Organization, 2007. Chairman, Local Government Service Commission CRS 2005. Chairman, security committee, PDP campaign organization 2007. Chairman, Cross River state local government PDP electoral panel, 2010. Member, Central working committee, PDP campaign organization CRS 2010. Director General, PDP campaign organization CRS 2014. Member, Cross River State Executive Council, serving as commissioner for Agriculture and later Environment, 2010 - 2013.
In 2015, Ntufam Dr Sandy Ojang Onor contested the PDP Senatorial election and lost at the primary owning to a great injustice which followers of the State's politics can attest to. He left to Labour Party to stand the election but lost. He decided to lick his wounds, gathered the pieces while he awaits God's time and concentrated on his business. He returned to the class room to continue impacting knowledge, something he is so passionate about. As God will have it, he got stepped up to Associate Professor in 2018. He has won numerous awards for his humanitarian, academic and political excellence. He returned to PDP nevertheless and went about serving the party.
Today, he is the PDP flag bearer for the 2019 Senatorial election. If you still think he doesn't deserve this victory, please re-examine your conscience.
