Nigeria, Niger sign fresh agreement against Boko Haram

Nigeria and neighbouring Niger Republic have signed an agreement to curtail the activities of the Boko Haram terrorists.
The Minister of Defence, Mansur Muhammad Dan-Ali, signed for Nigeria during his official visit to Niger Republic.
In a statement signed by Col. Tukur Gusau, the Public Relations Officer to the Defence Minister, said that his boss had audience with President Muhammadu Issoufou of Niger Republic at Presidential Palace Niamey.
Gusau said that President Issoufou thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for providing good leadership in the sub-continent leading to the successes recorded in the fight against insurgency.
He also hailed the mutual cooperation between Nigeria and Niger.
“The Minister of Defence informed the Nigerien leader that he is in Niger to strengthen the existing cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fight against insurgency.
“The two countries also signed agreement on how to curtail Boko Haram terrorism and cross boarder crimes,” he said.
