Hillix unveils first artiste, Victor.

A creative person should also give every outing or project its best. The reason is that he or she never can tell the leverage that every of such adventure can give. This must have positively dawned on fast-rising musician, Victor Oluwagbenro. The artiste identified by his Kings Band has played several times at events organised by Melvic Gold company. He did not only justify the confidence the advertising company has in him, he also duly impressed its (Melvic) clients. When the company thus recently decided to open an entertainment arm and zero in on an artiste to manage, Victor naturally became the preferred candidate. Of course, the choice was strengthened by the feelers that Hillix got from its clients.
Both Hillix and Victor were filled with excitement recently at a signing programme held in the company’s Allen, Ikeja office. According to the Head A&R, Mr. Opeyemi Adebola-Walter, while the outfit aims to discover talents, it believes that the relationship with Victor will be the right stepping stone to achieving the big dream. According to him, discovering talent is not limited to music alone, as the outfit is also looking at dancers, comedians, content providers, media personalities, paint artists, disc jokeys (deejays).
Adebowale-Walter said, “Access is the greatest gift you can give to anyone and a lot of talented young individuals out there seek access to an audience of one or many. As a talent management organisation, we discover, grow, expose and commercialise talent. What we are bringing into the talent management industry is this access that is required by many including trainings along with career and financial counselling.”
The Managing Director, Melvic Gold, Mrs. Angela Ukara-Makinwa, noted that the Hillix’s plan for the industry was big with no intention to exploit artistes. According to her, the company will not do anything that will get artistes enslaved, adding that the terms of contracts would be mutually rewarding.
“Signing an artiste is not a marriage. Make it a year and renew every year if both party involved have good intention to each other. We want to show them how it should be done and this means we are not just doing something different but we will get other industry players to follow our lead and play the game the right way.”
