An early morning tweet by the New York Times concerning President Muhammadu Buhari ’ s Monday announcement of his re- election bid , has pitted Nigerians against one another .
The tweet , put up at 6 : 40 am American time , riled some Nigerians who felt that the Western media doesn ’ t see any positive thing to report about Africa in general and Nigeria in particular .
Other respondents however expressed concerns about Nigeria ’ s current state, wondering if Buhari is up to the task .
The tweet , which has so far received 58 comments , 508 retweets and 175 likes shows divided opinion about the President ’ s 2019 bid .
