Deputy national president, Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, ,PENGASSAN, Mr Frank Esanubi has indicated interest to contest the 2019 governorship election on the platform of Action Democratic Party, ADB, in Delta state, describing the ruling People’s Democratic Party in the state as a failure.
Esanubi said the PDP which had been in government in Delta state since 1999 had not made significant impact in the state, stressing that it was time for Deltans to give another party a chance.
He assured that with his over twenty years experience in the private sector he would effectively apply public resource for the common good of all .
“The same party has been in power for 18 years now, we getting worst every day. You hear people say the first governor we had in 1999 is better, that despite the cases leveled against him, he is better, he achieved more that others that have not been taken to court. It gives you a picture of our state. When you bring those that are not the best you get what you see.
My drive to contest the election is to see that we do things better. When you say you want to contest for a public office you people l say you want to amass wealth, I do not blame them because that is what we see today. The drive for me coming out for this position is because I don’t want to give up on this country. I have faced the battle to say I should relocate my family out of the country but I dropped the idea because we need need to repair our own country, if nobody will do it for us. . This is why I have to offer myself for the governorship of the state.
I am contesting on the platform of Action Democratic Party, a new party registered in June 2017. The beauty of the party is that it respects internal democracy, we should expound the democratic space for the youths and women of the country.” he said.
