Wave making Italy based Nigerian Reggae musician, Eno Osagie who goes by the stage name, Winning Jah, is set for a triumphal homecoming as he, alongside 39 other famous Nigerian and foreign music stars have been honoured, as part of awardees listed to receive Obaland Royal Award by Obaland academy powered by Edos Reggae festival Inc, an entertainment company of his royal majesty Oba Ewuare II of Benin Kingdom.
According to Obaland Academy’s Vice President, Chief Aiwansoba of Uselu in Benin Kingdom, Collins Omede Nosayaba, a palace chief from the Benin Kingdom and the choice of those to be honoured was strictly guided by rules, as it represents Africa Grammy.
In the list of the 2018 Obaland honourees are Shatta Wale, Maja spencer, Jamaican reggae star, Evi Edna Ogholi, American star, Sean Paul, Sizzla, Daddy Fresh, Eedris Abdulkareem, among others. They will be presented the award on May 11 at a major music based event at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.
The Obaland Royal Award/Honour has a collective historical antique value worth over US$ 34 million, as valued by specialized anthropologist and museum critics. Benin City is famous for Benin Ivory mask Idia” recognised by UNESCO.
