OPPOSITION COALITION(CUPP) INTL PRESS BRIEFING ON THE OUTCOME OF THE FEB 23 2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

OPPOSITION COALITION(CUPP) INTL PRESS BRIEFING ON THE OUTCOME OF THE FEB 23 2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
...............

THE ROBBERY OF A NATION

OPPOSITION COALITION (CUPP)DECLARES 2019 ELECTION THE WORST IN THE HISTORY OF NIGERIA

OPPOSITION REJECTS PRESIDENT BUHARI AND APC VICTORY, DECLARES MANDATE  ILLEGITIMATE.

BUHARI IS CELEBRATING  A MANDATE DRIPPING WITH BLOOD(THEY KILLED OUR PEOPLE ON ELECTION DAY, VOIDED GENUINE RESULTS, INFLATED SCORES, BURNT INEC OFFICES, RAIDED OPPOSITION LEADERS HOMES, COMPROMISED INEC AND SECURITY OFFICIALS)

OPPOSITION PASSES CONFIDENCE VOTE ON ATIKU ABUBAKAR, VOWS TO   CONTINUE THE STRUGGLE WITH HIM TO RETRIEVE THE STOLEN MANDATE.

The Nigerian opposition Coalition has described as pyrrhic victory and the robbery of a nation, the announcement of President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the 2019 Presidential elections.

Evidence abounds nationwide and Nigerians are no longer in doubt that the 2019 general elections is a complete departure from the electoral gains made in 2015 and that the ruling APC massively stole votes and suppressed votes of the opposition to such an extent that this election is the worst  since Nigeria’s return to democracy 1999.

This electoral robbery by the Presidency can only be compared to the electoral heists of 1963 and 1983.

Buhari has insulted us all and our sensibilities. He has dared us all. He raped our electoral decency. In a bid to hang on to power with the crooks under him, he murdered democracy. Only a person who lacks understanding will congratulate a man who set out to burn down our electoral system. We ask, how do you accept this madness? Accepting this without as much as stiff resistance and exposing the fraud that was committed by President Buhari and the APC in this election is the recipe for future stealing of votes and massive voter apathy since voters will not have confidence in the system and this vicious cycle will continue perpetually. There must be an end to vote stealing.

President Buhari refused to sign the Electoral Act Amendment Bill into law. His supporters aided by security forces silence burnt card readers, stole electoral materials and sabotaged distribution. His soldiers acting on his instruction against the judgment of court  chased PDP agents out of collation  Centres, Returning Officers were held at gun point with security forces watching like in Imo and made to announce fake figures, in Akwa Ibom votes were destroyed and cancelled to reduce figures, in Lagos he supported ethnic violence, votes for the first time was burnt  because of President Buhari, hundreds of thousands of citizens in Sabon Gari in Kano never voted because President Buhari ensured they never did because he was afraid he did not have their votes. He planned this onslaught on the people because he already knew he failed to perform and that the people had rejected him.
Nobody was shot dead for ballot snatching rather innocent Nigerian voters and citizens opposing this robbery were killed in Kogi, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta State etc by security forces. The only recorded incidence of apprehension of ballot box snatchers were a result of the implementation of Opposition Code 20 by citizens in Lagos.

His audacity that he will rob us and remain president is most insulting.  He can get an announcement but he cannot get our support. He can rule with the guns and continue to kill and maim but we must stand firm from now till the end. President Buhari is not the man we voted. Our President is dancing and celebrating on the rivers of blood of slain citizens.

It is now obvious to Nigerians why President Buhari destroyed the Supreme Court and violently and undemocratically removed the Chief Justice of Nigeria even against the clear provisions of the Constitution. He knew he would rob the people and had to first make sure that justice would be denied the people from the illegitimate head of the Supreme Court. He knew he would rob the people and he retained the Chief of Army Staff for years after he was due for retirement and Nigerians all saw how the military interfered in the election and rigged for President Buhari.
In view of the above ,the opposition rejects the cooked and panel beaten figures and will not recognize General Muhammadu Buhari as carrier of legitimate mandate beyond 29th May, 2019. We will do everything within civil and legal means to stop his enjoyment of a mandate soaked in the blood of his people. We hereby declare the president as the carrier of stolen mandate and urge all Nigerians to continue to resist within civil means this robbery and continue to support the opposition to retrieve this mandate and bestow it to the rightful owner. We shall never give up.

We assure all Nigerians that the CUPP shall, starting from today, continue to lead the struggle to expose him and ensure what he stole is returned by the force of law.

We have a man who has shot his way through sitting as our President aided by a compromised military head. He debased our national honour, today the Opposition calls on you all to start spreading the message and the hashtag and hang in your homes, offices, places of business, and also use as wall papers display photos on all  social media platforms, this poster which we launch today #NotTheManWeElected. It is within your civil right to decide to be on your own. Nigerians should imagine a President with a stolen mandate being sworn in by an illegal Chief Justice of Nigeria, what a shame.

Let it be known that the fight for our nation’s liberation from a rampaging emperor has just begun, let no man give up, for those who sacrificed National interest to impose a man with no capacity to govern, you will soon realize you have driven a poisoned arrow into the heart of our nations democracy.

When there is a proclamation of the Parliament, let us start mobilizing across party lines. The emperor has penciled his stooges to take over and run the Parliament. Ahmad Lawan as Senate President, Femi Gbajabiamila as Speaker, Ovie Omo-Agege as Deputy Senate President with Abdulmimin Jibrin as Deputy Speaker. Cross party alliances must be formed to upstage him again. We must moderate him and his vaulting ambition within constitutional ropes, we must continue like modern democracies all over the world until we have removed the destruction he has brought to the nation. For the billions of Naira stolen to corrupt the electoral system, judgment will come, for the soldiers who killed our people, you will pay one day no matter how long, Nigerians are united In this struggle and once more we say; he is not the man we elected and  we will continue to fight till our nation is liberated, #NotTheManWeElected.

*I have been asked many times what I think of Africans, here is what I think of Africans, without language and without taboos.*

*They sell everything to the highest bidder, even the land. Then they poison themselves with everything that is edible.*

*"I am not racist because I do not believe for a single second that I am superior to a Black man".*
*The difference with them is that, "we think of our descendants", we are calculators, we protect our interests and we'll kill for that if need be"*.

*"We are not emotional, we have passed this stage". If the Lion has pity on the Gazelle, it is he who will die of hunger. "They have lions at home, but they do not understand the laws of nature"!!!.*

*"For everything, they confide in Superstition and Religion".*
*The difference between the others and Blacks is, "while others reflect, Blacks do not think, they do not use their intellectual capacity and very few Blacks are analytical".*

*And when a few Black people pierce through, we admit them to our side or eliminate them in one way or another, most often, with the hand of other Blacks.*

Message from *Ayodele Fayose* to *Igbos* after 2019 ELECTIONS

I am your neighbor, your good friend, supporter and admirer.

I am so happy with this people called the Igbos. I am so happy with their wisdom and industry. I am happy with their doggedness and pride. I am proud of their disobedience at times. I am proud of their capacity and capability to analyze and judge every situation on real time. I am proud of their ability to disagree on what other tribes would readily accept without deep analysis and their strong determination to follow through on anything they agree upon. I am proud of the way they  Accept challenges.

However, I have never been this proud before. Nigeria lost the elections but the Igbos won the elections. They told you Mr. Buhari that they hate you to your face. They hate your personality. They hate what you have done to their children, what you have done to pregnant women in many parts of Nigeria by ripping  open their wombs and ordering he death of Christian priests in Benue and the killings of their brethren in parts of the North. They say they hate the blood shed in Southern Kaduna, in Benue, in Zamfara, in Adamawa, in Taraba, in Borno and Yobe. You love and pamper Boko Haram. You release, rehabilitate and even enlist into the Nigerian Army and Police Boko Haram terrorists. Igbos hate Boko Haram. They hate bloodshed and they regard human life as sacred. You are the grand patron of the murderous Fulani Herdsmen and Igbos don’t want your cattle colonies in their towns and cities.

They denied you their votes and subjected you and your cabal to rigging in order to win. Igbos hate your divide and rule policies. They hate your ethnic based leadership and your nepotism. They hate injustice, ethnic and religious bigotry. Igbos hate poverty. That is the victory of their votes. They defeated you and Tinubu in your Lagos. They have confirmed to you that they are in Lagos, Abuja, PortHarcout and all over the south.
And for the rest of Nigeria, sorry for you. Igbos have done their part. They have rejected evil and his ministers. Their votes are their witness. The blood of all the young men killed in Portharcourt last Saturday bear witness to them. Their resistance in Lagos sing their triumph.
Whatever will happen in Nigeria the next four years, count Igbos innocent because they saw evil and rejected it. And those who desire evil and aided this evil will live with it. Igbos have done their part and hoping that one day, only one day, the rest of Nigeria will remember the sacrifices of the Igbo nation for the freedom of Nigeria of which their ancestors were the founding fathers. Thank you all Igbos who are still alive in Nigeria. You won the elections and you won my heart and hearts of all men and women of good will by shaming the devil.

Do not worry but trust God to vindicate you.
THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES!! 🙏🙏

Ahead of March 9th Gubernatorial Election: Anti-Party Alert.~ Modlin

The Bible says a man cannot serve two masters at the same time. Greed is man's greatest undoing.  Many appointees of government are scared of being exposed for playing anti-party during the just concluded  Presidential and National Assembly election on the sympathetic grounds of "taking away food from them". While some did it openly and confidently, one begins to wonder where such audacity came from. Particularly in the Northern and Southern district of Cross River State. While the party was struggling to deliver her candidates, they were busy sabotaging the efforts conscious or unconscious of the eyes of Nemesis watching them dig their graves politically. A party man understands that "party is supreme" but some people dare this supremacy for whatever reason. There's absolutely no rationale in the expression "support person not party" for those who have identified and are beneficiaries of a political party (Please, my opinion). The victory or failure of party candidates is collective. A party man cannot dissociate himself from either of them. Those anti-party warlords confuse voters when they say vote A of my party for this and B of the other party for that. If you're working for your party, do it thoroughly. The evidence is in the result.

As 9th of March speeds in, party leaders of the People's Democratic Party and our dear Governor should be on guard and on ground please. Conspicuously in this present political dispensation, big names no longer have absolute control over polling units as the real harvesters of votes are in some cases, not appointees but grassrooters. They are the politically unoticed yet energetic youths and women, some of whom are  living in villages whose support is borne more out of love for a party especially, the PDP, a household name.

Applause to those who justified their commitments to the party by spending their personal money, dedicating time to scout for votes and were on ground to ensure a smooth, free and fair electoral process in their polling units and the victory of the party. However, corrections should be taken and lessons learnt as we proceed to reiterate with our votes that, Cross River State remains a PDP controlled state yesterday, today and hopefully, tomorrow.

Nigeria Elections: Results declared by INEC were verified, Says UK

The United Kingdom (UK) says Nigerians can have confidence in the outcome of the presidential election that held on Saturday.
President Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the election with Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) coming second.
Harriett Baldwin, UK’s minister of state for Africa, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the result declared was consistent with the civil society parallel vote tabulation process.
“I offer my congratulations to President Buhari on securing a second term as the Nigerian President,” she said in the statement.
“The UK is a long-standing friend and partner of Nigeria and the Nigerian people, and a stable and prosperous Nigeria benefits Africa and the world.
“The Nigerian people have demonstrated resilience and a commitment to democracy. The result declared by the Nigerian election commission is consistent with the result obtained through the civil society Parallel Vote Tabulation process. Along with our international partners, the UK believes the Nigerian people can have confidence in the result.”
Atiku had rejected the result describing the election as the worst in the history of Nigeria. Following the announcement on Wednesday, he said the election witnessed an implementation of grant theft of the people’s will.
Reacting, however, Baldwin urged the opposition to challenge the result in a peaceful manner.
“We also recognise that independent Nigerian voices have expressed concerns about the conduct of the electoral process, in particular logistics and results collation, and reports of intimidation of election officials,” she said.
“We urge any party or individual who wishes to challenge the process to do so peacefully and through the appropriate legal channel and we encourage Nigerian authorities to examine all allegations of wrongdoing carefully, and take the necessary action against individuals found responsible.
“My thoughts are also with the families and friends of those who lost their lives in election-related violence. No one should die in the exercise of their democratic rights. We will continue to support Nigeria and its civil society in drawing lessons from these elections and strengthening its democracy.”

Aftermath of polls: Mass resignation looms in INEC.

THERE are indications that some Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, and National Commissioners of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will resign their appointments following alleged intimidation, harassment and threat to life by security agencies during the February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections.

FFK CALL ON ATIKU TO DEFEND NIGERIANS, AND TO GIVE FG ULTIMATUM

"The election was a charade! @atiku should now brace up to defend the choice of millions of Nigerians who risked their lives on Saturday, defied tyranny and oppression and spoke through the ballot! He must reject the results and give the FG an ultimatum to declare the authentic results, failure of which he will form a Government and order civil disobedience throughout the nation! If this charade is allowed to stand, the country is finished!  Then the authentic results collated by PDP from the 119,000 PUs must be released to the public and the international community".

Ayade dismisses thumbprinting viral video, calls for police, DSS investigation

Cross River State governor, Prof Ben Ayade, Wednesday, called on the Inspector General of Police as well as the Director General of the State Security Service to clamp down on those involved in the video showing thumb printing of ballot papers during last Saturday’s election.
Ayade who was addressing newsmen shortly after the state security council meeting held in Calabar maintained that the intention of the perpetrators was not only criminal but designed to paint a bad image as well as reduce the credibility of elections in Cross River.
"It is a cooked up video designed to embarrass the state, but God in His infinite mercy has a way of vindicating the innocent," the governor remarked, while calling on the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of the State Security Services to narrow down on this fraudulent, well choreographed, amateur display of blind wickedness with an intent to cause the federal government to doubt the credibility of Cross River elections."
Continuing, the governor argued that the planned video was not only politically motivated but intended to hurt his re-election election slated for March 9, adding that "that was not natural, I don't believe in that video and I think the public should disregard the video. It is not a video for reference at any point in time. Anybody who makes reference to that video has no details of analytical impression, because if you do, you will realise that there was a setup."
While insisting that no election is perfect, the governor maintained that "it is totally unacceptable for a man to sit inside the privacy of a room and conduct illegal act yet avoiding the camera catching his face and putting a bunch of money beside him while doing an illegal thumbprint."
Ayade, however, insisted that  "obviously it is a stage managed video, because you can see that the man who is supposed to be recording from a vintage position secretly capturing people who are committing a crime had the privilege of even zooming to the point of picking a date on a paper and the person arranges those ballot papers, thumbprint and carry out a discussion with a deliberate plan to record and to be heard, so, you can see that it is a cooked up video designed to embarrass the state."
According to Ayade, "the good news is that the security agencies have narrowed down on voice recognition and forensic examination of that video, we now have prime suspects and have identified the house where that happened and have ensured that the security agencies work on that.”
He assured Nigerians that those who staged that video will soon be apprehended.
Flanked during the briefing by service commanders in the state, the governor disclosed: "It is a very criminal offence and now that we have an idea of those who are behind it, they must be investigated, they must face the full wrath of the law and once they are found guilty, they must go to jail and that is the only way to vindicate the credibility of our elections and character of the people of Cross River."
On his style of politics, Ayade intimated: "I believe in politics with ethics, I have neither been extreme nor fought an enemy or friend. I believe that when there is a confrontation between morality, ethics and power, let power go. I have never been part of a process that is less than decent. If you don't understand ethical conduct, it will be difficult for you to understand my style of politics," adding: "if you are my enemy, I believe that it is an over plus of kindness and love that can draw you from that extreme enmity to virtue."

See the Masterminds of Trending Video aimed at blackmailing PDP.

Shortly after an amateurish video purportly suggesting infractions in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections in Cross River state went viral, security agents swiftly swung into action with the view of unmasking and apprehending the characters behind what many in the state say is a failed attempt at blackmail.

Investigations have now identified one Dominic Okwor from Ukwutia community in Utugwang North ward in Obudu LGA as the owner of the room where the video was made while the  alleged sponsored of the action is one Koko Dan, the candidate of APC in Feb 23rd House of Reps election.

Reacting to the video and unmasking of the alleged perpetrators,Hon. Martin Orim, Chief of Staff to Governor Ben Ayade, said  it was ridiculous that some people could descend so low to manufacture lies, assassinate political opponent's character and produce phoney video clips of non-existent electoral infractions just to score cheap political goals.

Democracy Will Not Be Emasculated in Nigeria~ ATIKU

I thank the Nigerian people who trooped out in their millions to perform their civic duty this past Saturday. The patriotism of Nigerians is heartwarming and affirms my oft-repeated statement that we are brothers and sisters born from the womb of one mother Nigeria.

With regards to the Presidential elections that took place on February 23, 2019, it is clear that there were manifest and premeditated malpractices in many states which negate the results announced.

One obvious red flag is the statistical impossibility of states ravaged by the war on terror generating much higher voter turnouts than peaceful states. The suppressed votes in my strongholds are so apparent and amateurish, that I am ashamed as a Nigerian that such could be allowed to happen. How can total votes in Akwa-Ibom, for instance, be 50% less than what they were in 2015?

Another glaring anomaly is the disruption of voting in strongholds of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos, Akwa-Ibom, Rivers and diverse other states, with the authorities doing little or nothing and in some cases facilitating these unfortunate situations.

The militarization of the electoral process is a disservice to our democracy and a throwback to the jackboot era of military dictatorship. In some areas of the country, such as, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Imo states, troops deployed for the elections turned their guns on the very citizens they were meant to protect. This is condemnable and should not be associated with our electoral process in the future.

I am a democrat and there are democratic avenues available to present the truth to the nation and the watching world. Already, many international observers have given their verdicts, which corroborate our observations. I am sure more will come in the coming hours and days.

If I had lost in a free and fair election, I would have called the victor within seconds of my being aware of his victory to offer not just my congratulations, but my services to help unite Nigeria by being a bridge between the North and the South.

However, in my democratic struggles for the past three decades, I have never seen our democracy so debased as it was on Saturday, February 23, 2019. 2007 was a challenge, but President Yar’Adua was remorseful. In 2019, it is sad to see those who trampled on democracy thumping their noses down on the Nigerian people.

Consequently, I hereby reject the result of the February 23, 2019 sham election and will be challenging it in court.

I want to assure my supporters and the entire Nigerian people that together, we will not allow democracy to be emasculated.

I hope and pray Nigerians will someday summon the courage to defend democracy. That is the only way we can move away from being the world headquarters for extreme poverty.

Signed:
Waziri Atiku Abubakar

Viral video of ballot papers thumbprint, handiwork of APC –Ayade’s Aide

The Cross River State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has dismissed claims of a trending Web video of ballot papers being thumb printed at a private residence in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections and which has been attributed to it.
The PDP, while describing the viral video as a poor hatchet job intended to cast a slur on the integrity of the February 16 elections in the state, said it was the handiwork of the APC elements who have been electorally decimated and are yet to recover from the pulverization.
In a strong worded statement distancing the state government from the claims of the hired hatchet men in the viral video, Deputy Chief Press Secretary to Cross River State governor, Senator Ben Ayade, Mr Linus Obogo said: “The PDP is already an entrenched institution spanning over 20 years in the state. Everyone knows that Cross River has always and will always be a PDP state. So, in the light of this, we have no reason to feel threatened by any force, whether real or imagined, necessitating the recruitment or hiring of anyone to mass thumb print ballot papers to secure a victory.”
Obogo who described Cross River APC as an atomistic conglomeration perpetually at war with itself, wondered how a party that has since its presence in the state been mired in an attritive and internecine strife could expect to defeat the PDP in an election, given its well documented polarity and schism.
According to Obogo, “What APC has done in the viral video is all about struggling to save its face from the ugly trouncing and humiliation at the February 16 elections by gathering some miscreants with a stash of cash in a private residence of one of their defeated members with an intent to not only devalue the worth of its victory but also to impugn the credibility of the elections.”
Faulting the ingenuity of the makers of the video, Obogo said: “The content of the video clearly exposed their scheme as a dubious parody by some disoriented desperados embarking on what I will describe as pull him down syndrome. You could see clearly that the makers of the video lacked imagination and creativity. They claimed to have been promised twenty million naira, with more than a quarter of the amount paid upfront, how come they were thumb printing with a stash of cash in display all over the place? If they were doing a clinical job, shouldn’t they have concealed the cash rather than display or have them filmed in the manner depicted in the video? From their conversation, even a moron could tell obviously that there was no coherence and logicality in their febrile bid to pooh-pooh our party’s well earned victory. You could see that they were just mentioning names to a justification for their mission. But it turned out so inchoate and terribly cobbled together. There is no doubt that it was clearly a poor imitation intended to frame up someone.
“The video is a concoction of some depraved and desperate minds, out to either tarnish the image of our party or that of the government or at best put a question mark on the credibility and transparency of the February 16 elections.
“I want state unambiguously and without any equivocation that neither our government nor our party has anything to do with the claims and content of the Web video and we condemn it in the strongest terms possible. How could a party which has never been on ground in the state expect to go into an electoral contest and win against a well-established and united front like the PDP? We worked so hard with an excellent strategy of door-to-door mobilization to earn us a victory. The governor’s food on the table initiative was the masterstroke that secured our victory. We envisaged no threat whatsoever.”
Warning of a similar decimation and unmitigated pummelling on March 9, the number two spokesman of Ayade said: “The trashing of February 16 was a clear signal of yet another crushing defeat that will be unleashed on the APC in the March 9 governorship and House of Assembly elections. As party and government, we are too politically sophisticated and culturally refined to engage in such an unethical and base conduct as depicted in the video. The only place to locate that is in a canine dog-eat-dog party which the state APC typifies, where foul is fair and all is fair in war.”
Insisting on exposing those behind the despicable video, Obogo said: “While I urge them to go about licking the wounds of their electoral defeat with all the fortitude they can muster, let me make it known to them that the matter has been reported to the police and it will be investigated, with the faces already identified in the video exposed and prosecuted. At the fullness of time, those behind the farcical video will be unmasked. This, we can assure Cross Riverians.”

Concern Nigerians cries out...

Eba Congratulates Senator Rose Oko and Hon.Jarigbe On their Landslide Victory.

February 26,2019.

The Cross river State Director General of Due Process and Price Intelligence Bureau and the Founder of Okadigbo Vanguard, Hon.Barrister Alphonsus Ogar Eba, has congratulated Senator Rose Oko and Hon.Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe  for their landslide victory in the just concluded  election.

The Director General, who spoke on Sunday through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity,Egbara Emmanuel Ikaba was convinced that the results clearly showed that connection to the people was key to winning an election.

He also commended the conduct of the poll, describing the performance of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies as above average.

Eba said the success of the election was a sign that INEC was listening to the cries of Nigerians for a return to the legacy of free, fair and credible elections.

“Even though there were reports of malfunctioning of card readers, number of votes exceeding number of accredited voters, and pockets of violence as well as buying of votes, the  election was better than others conducted by INEC under the present government of APC,” he said.

“The Director General urged INEC to fix all issues on card readers because it does not augur well for the electoral process and INEC itself if we are still being faced with failure of card readers on election day.”

The Director General also commended observers for ensuring that the election was relatively credible and urged them to focus more attention on the  governorship election .

“Particularly, we will be having governorship election  on 9th of March, 2019. I want both local and international observers to be involved before and during the election because what Nigerians desire is freedom to choose their governors in different states.

Eba, who observed that credible electoral process was the only way democracy can be sustained in the country, said: “Even elected public officers will have no option than to deliver democracy dividends to the people if there is assurance that votes will count.”

Breaking: PDP Rejects Presidential Election Results

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have rejected the Presidential election results being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday at the National Collation Centre in Abuja.
In a statement released by the National leader of the party, Uche Secondus on Monday, stated that the results does not captured the true reflection of the election that took place on Saturday.
“Firstly, I want to categorically state that our collation centers have all original results from every polling unit, in every ward, in every Local Government Area (LGA) in Nigeria, of which the international community is well aware, implying all results currently being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is incorrect thus unacceptable to our party and people,” Mr Secondus said.
Read his full statement below.
Our Democracy is Under Threat
Protocols:
1. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is forced to take a stand and make the following pronouncements at this crucial point because our democracy is under threat of derailment.
2. Firstly, I want to categorically state that our collation centers have all original results from every polling unit, in every ward, in every Local Government Area (LGA) in Nigeria, of which the international community is well aware, implying all results currently being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is incorrect thus unacceptable to our party and people.
3. Secondly, officials of both President Buhari’s government and the All Progressive Congress (APC), working with INEC officers, have tried to alter the course of history and disenfranchise our people through the cancellation and manipulation of figures for results already announced at polling units, nationwide, in Local Government Areas (LGAs) where our party, the PDP, had commanding votes; this must now be resisted by every well meaning Nigerian.
4. Thirdly, the ruling party’s strategy has indeed been murderous, undignified, and disrespectful of the wishes of the electorate, our people and the international community who have been in solidarity with our nation as we attempt to strengthen our democracy and its institutions.
5. Fourthly, in full view of the watching world, and despite efforts by our great party and its agents to adhere to every laid down provision for the 2019 general elections, the APC in collusion with INEC have taken aggressive steps, mostly through inducements, manipulation and incarcerations, using the elements of state power including the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army in particular, alongside other organizations including the Department of State Security (DSS) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to silence the voices of our long suffering people; this is disheartening, considering the terms of the Peace Accord, which called for impartiality and non-partisanship by members of our security organization with constitutional roles to play during this civic exercise.
6. Fifthly, as results trickled in on the Sunday, February 24th, 2019, clearly putting the PDP in the lead, the ruling party and President Buhari dispatched high-ranking officials to coercively influence outcomes in different geopolitical zones in the country. For example:
I. The minister of the interior, was dispatched to the North West of the country
II. The Secretary of the Government of the Federation was dispatched to the North East of the country; while the
III. The Attorney General and Minister were dispatched to the South East and South-South regions.
7. With the INEC IT server hacked by agents of the APC to manipulate results, we can with certainty state that results from the following polling units have, for example, been tampered with, note:
i. Sarkin Dawaki ward in Doma LGA – Nassarawa state
ii. Doka ward in Doma LGA – Nassarawa state
iii. Agyaragin – Tofa ward
iv. 10, 000 illegal votes added to already announced results in Wurno LGA in Sokoto state
v. Additionally, violent and destructive attacks have been meted out to officials while counting at Lafia St. and police barracks polling units.
8. As if these provocations are not enough, our agents and officials are constantly arrested and in many cases locked-up for complaining that Card Readers were not in use in many Northern states, implying that all results from the Northern part of the country where Card Readers were not used should be voided in accordance with INEC guidelines.
9. I also believe, the arrest of Eng. Buba Galadima, who has been a great symbol of what is courageous about our people goes to show that one man’s ambition is greater than our collective good, and most probably worth the blood of all Nigerians.
10. In that context, I call for Buba Galadima’s immediate and unconditional release, as well as that of all officials and agents of the PDP, in the Southwest, who were mostly arrested on the eve of the elections where intimidation became the APCs sole election strategy.
11. Despite these provocations, intimidation and attempts to hijack our democracy and change the course of history, I must, in fact, convey to our good people the fact that the PDP is on course to victory and the Presidency; therefore, remain resolute and steadfast, because our party shares in your uncertainty and suffering, which must decisively come to a good end for us all.
12. Finally, and once again, we appeal to the leadership of INEC to remain impartial and not become willing agents to disenfranchise our people and derail our democracy, because the world is watching, and history will indeed pass judgment.
In addition, to the international community; we welcome your support for our democracy and extend our gratitude with great hope for our democracy.

Revealed: How INEC C'River plans to defraud FG, frustrate Cross Riverians

Ukorebi Esien | 22th February 2019

According to information reaching our newsroom, there is a secret plan by the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Cross River State to defraud the Federal Government as it prepares to conduct the first round of the nation's general elections come Saturday 23rd February 2019.

According to the source who is pleading anonymity, the election umpire were suppose to employ four ad-hoc staff of different category and functions in each polling unit, those staff consist of the Presiding Officer (PO) and Assistant Presiding Officers (APO 1, 2 and 3). Making it four INEC ad-hoc staff in each polling unit.

These staff all have various functions to perform during the elections, which are but not limited to:

PO: Over sees the entire polling units as well as stamp and sign ballot papers.

APO 1: Works with the card reader machine to authentic PVC's

APO2: Verifies electorates names in the INEC register of that polling unit to ensure they were actually register to vote in that unit.

APO3: Helps to control the crowd in the queue to ensure orderliness and peaceful electoral process. He also confirms if the electorate are to vote in that polling unit by confirming if there PVC belongs to the polling unit.

The source revealed that this was what they were told during the training. But surprisingly when the list of INEC ad-hoc staff was released, the position of APO 3 was conspicuously missing except for Calabar South, Calabar Municipality and Obudu Local Government Areas.

It is believed that the over 180 billion Naira budget approved by the National Assembly for this year's elections had made provisions for the position of APO 3 in all the 777 local government areas in the country. Judging by what is ongoing in Cross River State, one begins to wonder why the Cross River State Resident Electoral Commissioner would want to exclude such a sensitive position from the list of ad-hoc staff to be deployed to the various polling units?

If the polling units in the state do not have APO 3s, how will the crowd be controlled? What happens to the allowances budgeted for APO 3s? Who gave the directives that the other 15 local government areas should have three ad-hoc staff per polling unit?

These and many more are questions begging for answers as we approach the forthcoming general elections in the state.

In a related development, the election umpire has also been accused of frustrating Cross Riverians who had applied and were trained as ad-hoc staff as there are strong indications that there are some shady deals ongoing within INEC with many aggrieved applicants for the commission's ad-hoc staff position had crying out for help.

Explianing to TDN one of the affected applicants said "My name appeared on their portal that I have been selected as an APO, and deployed to Biase Local Government Area in Cross River State, I went to the office and didn't see my name pasted on the wall, we were later asked to go to our respective local government areas of deployement. I paid my way to Biase only to be told that I have not been selected".

"We registered and went for the training, but our names are not on the list – we've been checking since morning and I think the system is being compromised.
"How will they train us and later shortlist different persons, or, is INEC up to something fishy? It's bad how corrupt our system is and I hope it serve them well,"
"We suffered to travel to Boki, Akpabuyo and Calabar for the training, yet, our names were substituted; even the persons that trained us were not shortlisted".
These and many more were what some of the frustrated applicants complained to CALABAR REPORTERS on Friday in Calabar.

When confronted with all these allegations, a senior staff of the commission who is familiar with the story, but pleaded anonymity since they have not been authorised to speak on the issue, told our Correspondent that, "they were over 15,000 ad-hoc staff deployed by the commission to conduct last Saturday's elections in the state. But unfortunately the elections didn't hold".

"And due to all the complains received so far, the commission has decided to discard the former list that was used last week and a new list is likely to be published tomorrow (21st February 2019) that will capture all those that were previously trained for the job".

The staff however, denied knowledge of any portal or website where names of successful applicants was been published. On the issue of APO 3 not captured in about 15 local government areas in the last deployment of ad-hoc staff carried out in the state, our source believes all that will be sorted out in the new list that will be published tomorrow.

TDN, however learnt that the many irregularities that transpired with the list of INEC ad-hoc staff published last week has actually landed a senior staff, in fact a Director of the Commission in serious trouble as he was fingered to be involved in the shady deals, according to the grapevine source who pleaded that his identity be kept in the dark, "the director may likely loss his job or be disciplined by the commission, as he will definitely not go unpunished".
